Key highlights of the three-year partnership include record-breaking financial results, surpassing the City’s goal of building a financial reserve, new sales and marketing initiatives, and capital improvement projects upgrading the building.

(Los Angeles, CA) The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) reported its most successful financial and operational year to-date. Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-2016 significantly exceeded revenue expectations and nearly tripled the prior year’s profits of over $2.8 million to a record-breaking profit of $8.1 million. Beyond financial accomplishments, the LACC also completed a myriad of Capital Improvement (CIP) and Alteration & Improvement (A&I) Projects to further enhance building operations and efficiencies while adhering to its overarching environmental sustainability goals.

L.A. Biz - WonderCon 2016

This weekend, downtown Los Angeles will be crawling with comic-book nerds, movie geeks and cosplayers of all stripes as WonderCon moves into the L.A. Convention Center for the first time. More than 60,000 pop-culture fans are expected to attend the three-day event, injecting tens of millions of dollars into the local economy on an otherwise slow Easter weekend and helping Los Angeles audition for Comic-Con — WonderCon’s big sister show and “the granddaddy of comic-book conventions.”

Los Angeles Convention Center Goes Dark for Earth Hour

Joining More Than 50 AEG Facilities-Affiliated Venues in a Global Call to Action in Support of the Environment

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 17, 2016) On March 19th, 2016, the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) will join millions of people and organizations worldwide in “going dark” for World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour, a worldwide grassroots movement uniting people to protect the planet. From 8:30 to 9:30 PM, the LACC will turn off its non-essential lights, primarily focusing on West and South Hall towers, as a symbolic call to action to protect our planet. As part of a global Earth Hour campaign organized by AEG 1EARTH, AEG’s industry-leading corporate sustainability program, the LACC joins more than 50 AEG Facilities-affiliated venues in 27 cities, eight countries and four continents across the globe in celebrating its commitment to the environment.

#101SlowJam This Weekend - 101 FWY Closure Reminder!

The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering has announced that US Rte 101 will be closed for 40 hours to enable safe demolition of a section of the Sixth Street Viaduct, located over the freeway. The 40-hour full freeway closure on US Rte 101 through downtown LA will take place starting Friday Feb. 5th at 10 p.m. to Sunday Feb. 7th at 2 p.m.

LA Convention Center Kicks Off the New Year with Fit Expo 2016

This year kicked off right with the LA Fit Expo, where nearly 60,000 expected attendees were on hand to share their love of fitness and health.  

The conference and exhibition was held Jan. 23-24 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. With so much going on at the show, it was hard to know where to go first.  And, with the two-day format, attendees packed the floor to get in as much as possible.
