This recognition underscores the convention center's unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and demonstrates its dedication to leading the way in sustainable practices within the event industry.

The California Green Business Network, a prestigious organization dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and economic prosperity, has rigorously assessed the Los Angeles Convention Center's operations, focusing on key areas such as energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and pollution prevention. After thorough evaluation and implementation of sustainable measures, the convention center has met and exceeded the stringent criteria set forth by the Network.

"We are thrilled to receive this prestigious certification from the California Green Business Network," said Kimberly Weedmark, General Manager of the Los Angeles Convention Center. “The entire process with LASAN and USGBC-LA helped to identify potential areas of improvement to assist the Los Angeles Convention Center on the road to carbon neutrality. It pointed out small changes that we can make immediately and gave us long term goals in all areas to aim for as we strive to achieve a zero-waste building in the city of Los Angeles.”

Doane Liu, Chief Tourism Officer and Executive Director of the Los Angeles City Tourism Department, shared “We appreciate this certification from Mayor Karen Bass and the LA Sanitation Department that recognizes the efforts that the LA Convention Center has taken to conserve resources, reduce waste and make LA a more sustainable community. The LA Convention Center brings together people from all over the world for industry-leading events and we are glad that the Center can also be an industry leader in environmental impact.”

Achieving Certified Green Business status underscores the Los Angeles Convention Center's dedication to environmental sustainability and sets a new benchmark for eco-conscious event venues. By implementing innovative solutions and adopting best practices, the convention center aims to reduce its environmental impact while providing world-class facilities and services to its clients and visitors.

In addition to enhancing its environmental performance, the Los Angeles Convention Center's certification as a Certified Green Business aligns with the city's broader sustainability goals and reinforces its position as a leader in environmental stewardship. By promoting sustainable practices, the convention center contributes to the collective effort to combat climate change and create a more resilient and equitable future for all.
